Our Mission:

The mission of Commonwealth Youthchoirs is to offer world-class choral music education and performance opportunities to young men and women from diverse economic, racial and ethnic backgrounds while nurturing leadership skills, building character, and encouraging self-discipline.

Our Philosophy:

Everyone can sing, but not everyone can sing well. And not everyone who sings well is a musician. A young person will enter one of our two choirs as a singer, but he or she will leave the experience as a singer-musician. Membership in Commonwealth Youthchoirs requires great commitment. It is no less demanding than being a member of an athletic team, and in some ways it will be more rigorous. But the rewards are equally great. For our singers, the skills they learn, the music they make, the places they go, and the people they meet are experiences that will serve them throughout their lifetime. Participating in Keystone State Boychoir or Pennsylvania Girlchoir truly offers the experience of a lifetime.
